Black Bear 2 Newsletter: October 2019

Dear Black Bear 2 Parents,

Happy Fall! I wish you and your families enjoy the beautiful and harvest season!

September Highlights: We explored apples with our 5 senses and learned about the parts of an apple; we talked about our families’ favorite activities and the holidays that our families celebrate. During the week of Community Helpers, we learned about what community is, who community helpers are and what they do; we also made a bar graph with a tittle: “What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?” In addition, we had so much fun during the first week of Fall. We learned about the signs of Fall, why leaves change colors, and what animals do in Fall. We also had “Going on a Nature Hunt” in our field and had found some nature items. Your student made a beautiful “Nature Sensory Card” using these nature objects. In Math, your student did a great job in numbers, counting, and matching; we also learned about standard and non-standard measuring/tools. In literacy, we studied 4 letters (Tt, Ii, Pp, and Nn) and their initial letter sounds, rhyming words, and poems.

In October, we will be having a Halloween Party on Thursday, October 31st at 4pm. On that day, your student can wear their costumes to school, but no toy guns and other weapons. Thank you for your cooperation!
