This month we have the themes: groundhogs day/ day or night, jungle animals, valentine’s day/friends, and nutrition. The stem theme for this month is based on the grocery store.

We are still doing the letter of the week, and we are starting to incorporate sight words of the week. A list of our sight words was sent home in everybody’s cubbies if you need another copy let me know and we can get you one.

For Valentine’s Day, we will be making bags so the kids don’t need to bring one. If you want your child to bring their own please let us know.

We’ve had a lot of parents ask if the kids can bring toys to school. We are ok with them bringing in toys as long as it’s not more than maybe one at a time because then their cubbies get really cluttered. We also only let them play with the toys at the end of the day at free centers, if they’ve had a good day. If the toy becomes a distraction or they are not making good choices we will take the toy away and keep on the teacher counter until they are picked up.

We have had to move Miss Pam to the brown bear room as they need another teacher and we do not. So in our class, it will be Miss Maddy, Miss Melissa, and Miss Morgan.

Please remember that if your child is going to arrive after 9:30 we do ask that you give the center a call otherwise we might begin planning things based on the fact that they’re not going to be here.
