Black Bears Newsletter: September 2019

Hello everyone!

Fall is coming, so please make sure the kids at least have a sweater to wear, when the mornings might be a little chilly. This month we have Labor Day which means the center will be closed that Monday, so please plan accordingly. This month our themes will include; where we live, my family, fall, and community helpers. The STEM based activities we will do this month, revolve around the theme veterinary clinic.

We have started letter of the week so ask them and see if they know! We will be doing assessments now that the children are comfortable and there will be a copy of the beginning of the year assessment in their cubbies. If we have any community helpers come visit the class we will write the date on the white board, so you can plan if your kid will be here that day.

Every Friday we have show and share. We ask that whatever they bring be about the theme of the week or that it starts with the letter of the week. We have some of the kids share on the black chair to the whole class, we won’t get the chance to have everybody share so every week we try to have new kids share or the friends who have had amazing days. After our circle time we have the kids play with their show and shares at centers so if it’s something breakable that you do not want the kids playing with please let a teacher know so we can keep it on the teacher counter.

We do have a parent’s communication book hanging by the door in the class. If you need to take days off or have any important information you need the teachers to know we ask that you write it in the book. We have also split the black bears if you have not gotten the letter, if your child is a black bear 2 then check in the grizzly’s room first when dropping off. If the teacher is in there then please leave them there if not then take them to the black bear room please. Thank you and have a great month!
