Brown Bears Newsletter: August 2019

August is upon us! We hope everyone is enjoying summer and vacations. The start of the new school year is fast approaching. Our class will transition as a whole on August 15. Once the Black Bears move onto kindergarten, your child will move forward. A date will be announced for the Brown Bears parents to meet the Black Bear Teachers. The Polar Parents can meet the Brown Bear Teachers on Thursday, August 8, at 6 PM. It is a good idea to attend to learn about how the classroom is run and what your child will be learning, during the school year. Bring your questions!

We are always sad to say goodbye but proud to see how much your child has grown. We wish them all the best, we know they’ll do well. Thank you for sharing them with us. The staff will move your child’s cubby for you on the evening of the 14th, including sunscreen and lotions.

The Brown Bears have been practicing their skills and focusing and number recognition, patterns, matching, and listening to directions. Some are reading BOB books too! Please ask them to teach you what they know by going over their papers in their file.

Our new class will focus on getting to know each other. The first theme is titled “All About Me” and leads into “My Family” the following week. We ask that you provide a family photo to keep in your child’s cubby all year.

Unfortunately Diane will be out August 19 through the 23rd to celebrate her mother in law‘s 91st birthday in Michigan. I apologize to your children during a crucial week but I need to put her first as I am sure you understand.

We are looking forward to a successful school year. Please don’t hesitate with any questions or concerns. The email is a handy communication
