October was filled with so many special guest appearances and real life learning experiences; it will be hard to top.
We want to thank all the families for their generosity, to make Halloween and the first Trunk or Treat very successful and a blast. Landon’s mom Melissa braved the cold and had the coolest super hero decorated trunk! The children enjoyed our healthy snacks due to many parents signing for extra snacks. All your donations for Friday supplied the whole school. We appreciate all of you!
November will focus on being thankful, what that means as in how it makes our hearts happy and who we are thankful for.
We begin the month discussing the importance of farms, including farm to table for healthy eating. Hopefully your children will let you know how important the bees are for pollinating, our earth, and us, not just for yummy honey.
The second week will build on farms by discussing harvesting. We will continue to teach healthy eating. Fresh fruits and vegetables taste so much better too. Fall provides so many fresh treats.
The third week shifts to transportation. Many families travel for the holidays using different modes of transportation. It’s a great way to build vocabulary, too.
Thanksgiving being the last week provides the opportunity to not only focus on the importance of a thankful heart but also what appreciation means. Appreciation for family, friends, and community helpers will give us all the desire to give back to make the world (and classroom) a better place.
The letter of the week continues through out the month. As well as number recognition.
Your children are working hard on small motor skills, writing, cutting, and zipping zippers. Letting your children dress themselves will help build stronger fingers, which will help for beginning writing. It takes a lot of time for 20 children to get ready to go outside especially with winter gear. It is also a great opportunity to build self -esteem and stronger fine motor skills. Patience and guidance is key.
Please double check cubbies for a warmer complete change of clothes. Many baskets are empty and we don’t have much extra clothes to share.

We can’t thank you enough for all you do!
