Brown Bears Newsletter: November 2020

November’s main focus this month is what does it mean to be thankful and reasons to be thankful.

We are thankful for you and all you do. The Halloween celebration was a success due to everyone’s generosity. We would especially like to thank Lindsay, Eva’s mom, for the surprise goodie bag filled with fun.

The month starts off making some modes of transportation, then the theme of down on the farm which leads into harvest and finishing with Thanksgiving. The letters this month are U and Y.

I have started introducing vowels first in preparation for sounding out words for beginning reading.

One important aspect of helping your child child succeed in school is to read at home. Asking questions before and after each page can help with comprehension and critical thinking.

Your children have fallen in love with puzzles which is another important activity to build critical thinking. They actually asked permission to do puzzles! My answer is always the same, “of course!” Puzzles and books make great presents with the holidays coming up.

Unfortunately I don’t have any borrow clothes so please remember a complete change of clothes to stay at school for accidental spills or wet weather.

I can’t thank you enough for all you do and your support. Please don’t hesitate with questions or concerns, my email is sunsetacademybrownbears@gmail.com

Remember to hug them, love them, laugh lots, and read, read, read, they grow fast!

Thank you, Ms Diane
