Dear Parents,

Now that the holidays are behind us and we are moving into the new year, we hope all of you are well rested and ready for an exciting new year.

Reminder that the weather has been from warm to very cold and snowy. Please insure your children are prepared for any type of weather having their winter weather clothing available for those cold days we are still facing.

We would like to thank the parents for their overwhelming support of our monthly staff meetings. Our first meeting was very successful giving us an opportunity to provide training for teacher development from a state agent. As a reminder we will close at 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd Friday of each month starting January 11th. We really appreciate your support.

Valentine’s Day Party: Parents are invited to join their children for their Valentine’s Day Party. Each class teacher will have a variety of activities planned for this special day. We hope you will be able to join us. Please look for the sign-up sheets at your child’s class for snacks.

Parenting Tips –Saying I Love You:

“Saying I Love You” is one of the most important things parents can say to raise a confident child. There are many ways to express love for a child. Here are some simple ideas:

Include an “I Love You” note in your child’s lunch box. Even young children will enjoy looking at the note

Sing a song to your child. They won’t mind if you are off key as they will get the message.

Tell your child why you love them. They will remember it for a long time

Put a family picture in your child’s cubby at school.

Try to make time for family each day where your child feels secure and loved and able to communicate freely. This could be while enjoying a meal or snack, reading a story, even simply sitting quietly together

Hug your child often. There will come a time when they will shrug off your hugs, so enjoy them while you can.
