During February, we in the Cubs classroom have been working on social-emotional development. We are often using phrases like, “I love you,” “You can do it,” and “Gentle hands.” Our language and directions are short and clear. We are using positive and encouraging language to redirect and help the children learn how to keep themselves and their friends safe. We presented many creative and sensory experiences this month including exploring paint and using ink pads. We all loved the pudding painting, the children liked tasting it and the teachers loved to watch their curiosity and reactions! Some of our children have reached exciting milestones like Savannah who started crawling and standing and Bristol who is officially walking on her own!
We said farewell to Bristol & Beckett who transitioned to the Teddy Room this month! We welcomed two new friends, Luca & Nolan, into our classroom and are so pleased to have them with us! Next month we will be having fun with some springtime activities. Some of our ideas are exploring the water table (weather permitting) and bringing in more natural materials for sensory play. We look forward to continuing to watch your precious children grow and amaze us!
