Director Newsletter: May 2021

As vaccines have become more available, we hope all parents make appoints to receive them. Most of our staff are now fully vaccinated.  We hope our parents will be able to venture out more and are able to get a little more sense of normalcy in your lives.

We would like to wish all of our mothers a very happy Mother’s Day this month. We hope you will be able to find some quiet time to relax and rejuvenate.

We will be having Parent/Teacher conferences this month. Sign-up sheets can be found at the front check-in area. You will have the option to select Phone, Zoom, or in person where your child’s teacher will meet you outdoors at the school.

May is Teacher Appreciation month. This year our teachers deserve all the praises you can afford as most of them have worked in isolated classrooms to care for and educate your children. The week of May 3rd will be your opportunity to show your appreciation for your child’s teacher by providing recognition in any way you would like.

Please send your words in appreciation in card, handwritten notes, flowers or any other means to express your appreciation to the teachers of your children. If you want to bring donuts or other food items, please sign up at our sign-up sheet in the check-in area.

Please also consider leaving your kind comments about your child’s teacher on Google Reviews. For each positive 5-star review, the teachers of school receive $25 in cash from the school, and we will give you a $25 gift card for doing it.    Click on this link to start:

Leave Sunset Academy a 5-star Review

As a reminder, we are having our staff meetings again on May 14th,  as we do on the 2nd Friday of each month. This is for staff training and development. We will be closing at 4:00 p.m. on those days. Dates are posted at the check-in area.

We will be having our PreK and Kindergarten graduation on May 27th. The ceremony will take place out in the field where the garden is located. The time will be at 12:00 pm (Noon). We are asking for assistance from parents bringing healthy store-bought snacks for the reception to follow the graduation.

Thank you, parents, for your precautions during this time keeping your child at home when sick or not feeling well. We know the extra stress this creates, but as you all know it is required to keep everybody safe and healthy. We truly appreciate you all.
