Spring into Learning!

April is here, and with it comes a new season of growth and exploration at Sunset Academy! As the weather warms up, our classrooms are embracing fresh learning opportunities tailored to each age group.

Infants & Toddler Curriculum This month, our youngest learners will engage in sensory exploration, nature-inspired activities, and plenty of outdoor tummy time and gross motor play. We’ll focus on fine and gross motor development through crawling, cruising, and movement activities, as well as introduce spring-themed songs and fingerplays to encourage language development.

Preschool Curriculum Our preschoolers will dive into the wonders of spring! We’ll be learning about plant life cycles, insects, and the changing weather. Hands-on projects such as seed planting and butterfly observation will allow children to witness nature in action. Letter and number recognition activities will be integrated with these themes to reinforce early literacy and math skills.

Pre-K Curriculum Pre-K students will also explore springtime changes, habitats, and weather patterns while continuing to build foundational skills for kindergarten readiness.

Spring Photos – April 24 & 25

Mark your calendars! Spring photos will be taken on Wednesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 25.

Dress your little ones in their favorite spring outfits and be ready for some adorable memories! More details will be sent home as we get closer to the dates.

Sunscreen Reminder

With warmer days ahead, we will be spending more time outside! Please bring a labeled bottle of sunscreen for your child so we can ensure they are protected during outdoor play. (Aerosol spray sunscreen is prohibited per licensing.)

As we transition to lighter clothing, don’t forget to check your child’s extra clothes in their cubby to ensure they are weather-appropriate.

Amazon Classroom Wishlists

We are excited to introduce Amazon Classroom Wishlists! Each classroom now has a curated wishlist of items that would enhance learning and play experiences. If you would like to contribute, links to the wishlists will be shared soon. Your generosity and support help us continue providing enriching opportunities for our students!

Staffing Updates

Several more of our wonderful staff members will be heading out on maternity leave soon, and we are thrilled for them as they prepare to welcome their little ones! During this time, you will see some new faces as temporary teachers step in to ensure continuity in each classroom. We will introduce these new team members as they arrive. Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate these transitions.

MILK CAPS FOR MOOLA

Milkcaps for Moola Fundraiser- We are excited to announce that we are now participating in “Milkcaps for Moola” with Longmont Dairy! This is a fundraising program where families can bring their Longmont Dairy milk caps to school and place them in the collection box. The dairy will pick them up and reward us with Mooola, which will allow us to purchase more learning materials for our classrooms! If you are a Longmont Dairy customer and purchase Longmont Dairy Milk, Cold Brew, Lemonade, Orange Juice, Eggnog, or other products in glass bottles, all caps from these items are eligible. Thank you for your support!

We look forward to a fantastic month ahead! If you have any questions, please reach out to the front desk.
