Director’s Newsletter: December 2021

December Director Newsletter

The weather is not like we usually get and is still warm, are you all ready for winter yet?

Thank you to all the parents who supported our Scholastic Book Fair. We appreciate your participation and support.

Please look for the holiday survey at your child’s classroom and identify any time off you will be taking so that we can plan for the holiday.

Look for your child’s classroom newsletter for information regarding each classroom holiday party.

NOTE: With the increase in cases COVID, Boulder County Health has us in a mask mandate for all people requiring to mask up while in indoor public settings. Please be sure to do your part to keep yourselves and your families safe.

With the cold weather creeping in, please ensure your child has appropriate clothing like sweater, jacket, gloves, etc. based on whatever the weather conditions are for each day.

As a reminder, we are having our staff meetings on the 2nd Friday of each month. This is for staff training and development like we accomplished prior to COVID. We will be closing at 4:00 p.m. on those days. Dates are posted at the check-in area. December 10th will be our staff meeting this month.

Reminders:

Sunset Academy will be closed December 24th in recognition of the Christmas Holiday. We wish you all a great Holiday Season and hope you have a joyous time with your families.

Sunset Academy will be closed December 31st in recognition of the New Years Holiday. We wish you all a joyous and wonderful New Year.

If you have not yet returned your Child and Adult Food Care Program form (CACFP), please do so as we are trying to wrap up on this requirement for the program quickly.

Thank you, parents, for your precautions keeping your child at home when sick or not feeling well. We know the extra stress this creates, but as you all know it is required to keep everybody safe and healthy. We truly appreciate you all.

Parenting Tip: It’s the Season for Giving

This holiday season take some time to talk to children about the importance of giving back to their community. Children can participate by baking cookies for a bake sale, putting few toys in a bag to give to Goodwill to make for new toys at home, or filling a bag of groceries to donate to churches or local Food Bank.
