For parents seeking quality infant care in Longmont, Sunset Academy provides a carefully structured program beginning at six weeks of age. Our infant care program is divided into two specialized nurseries designed to meet the needs of different developmental stages:

  • Cubs (6 weeks to crawling): This room encourages infants to explore their senses with safe, engaging activities and age-appropriate toys.
  • Teddies (crawling to walking): In this nursery, infants are encouraged to build confidence as they transition toward walking, with toys and layouts tailored for their mobility.

Sunset Academy’s clean, home-like nursery environment is ideal for infants’ early explorations. As part of our dedication to high-quality infant care, we maintain a 1:4 adult-to-child ratio, providing each child with individualized attention and consistent supervision. By exceeding the recommended state infant care guidelines, we create a secure and nurturing environment that supports growth and development.

Our on-demand approach to feeding and sleeping allows infants to follow their natural rhythms, while parents who prefer a specific schedule can be accommodated as well. Diaper checks are performed every hour, with immediate changes as needed. We prioritize each child’s comfort and well-being, providing them with nurturing interactions that encourage progress at their own pace.

To ensure the highest standard of infant care, an Infant Nursery Supervisor (INS) is on-site at all times. We also conduct monthly nurse consultations to provide additional training for caregivers and monitor each child’s health. This commitment to regular medical guidance supports our staff in keeping up-to-date with best practices in infant care.
