Koala 2 November 2017 Newsletter

Welcome To November Koala 2 Families,

We had so much fun throughout October with so many of our themed projects.  Many parents already took home their scarecrows, which showed 3 weeks of projects compiled into one.  We transformed our room for the Fall Festival & added the ball pit haunted house, which was a hit.  In addition our classroom won the door contest.  The Koala student’s artwork on the door won a $50 gift card for classroom supplies.  Congratulations Koala students!!

The themes for October include:

  • Down on the Farm
  • Transportation
  • Harvest/ Leaves
  • Thanksgiving
  • Teacher’s Choice (Shh, it’s a surprise)

STEM: Ramps & Bridges

November is going to have colder weather.  Please remember students need to bring a warm jacket/coat, even if they don’t think they will need it.  Weather can change quickly & it is better to be prepared than caught off guard.  We do our best to get the students outside, even if it’s only for a few minutes.  They need the fresh air and room to get loud daily.

November also brings the beginning of holiday preparations.  To that end we will be placing a sign-up sheet outside the Koala room for parents to sign their student IN or OUT during the week of Thanksgiving.  If your child is not marked IN by Friday Nov. 15th we will have to count them as out.  We will staff accordingly.  Please note it must say “IN” each day.  A slash or line could be either & will have to be counted as OUT due to vagueness.

Looking ahead:

Winter Break, the weeks of Christmas & New Years, sign-up sheets will begin right after Thanksgiving week.  This will need filled out by Dec. 15th to schedule the staff accordingly.

We will be scheduling parent teacher conferences in December for our students. Please keep a look out for the sign-up sheets with your teachers.  More news on this as the date gets closer.

This is going to be a busy month, full of fun for the Koala 2 students.  We are having a blast continuing to learn & grow with our Koala friends & families.
