My name is Ms. Guoli Kan, and I am the lead teacher of the Kindergarten Class at Sunset Academy. 

I graduated from CU Boulder with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  Since then, I have been a teacher in early childhood education for more than 12 years because I love teaching kids and watching them grow. Starting from September of 2019, I have been teaching at the Sunset Academy and working with Pre-K and Kindergarten. Prior teaching at Sunset Academy, I taught Pre-K and Preschool at a Primrose School for 11 years. My favorite teaching courses include math and science. I also teach Mandarin Chinese to Pre-K and Kindergarten kids. My favorite children’s book is all of Dr. Suess books.

I am originally from Beijing, China and moved to the US with my husband in 1998. We lived in Florida for 5 years before moving to Longmont in 2003. I really enjoy the weather and mountains in Colorado. I have a son who is attending college with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Music. He is hoping to study medicine and be a doctor. In my spare time, I like hiking, walking, reading, and cooking chinese food.
