Dear Panda One Families,
Season’s Greetings! We hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. We spent the week reading books about sharing, friendship, food, Thanksgiving, and turkeys. The children made turkey handprints, used pipe cleaner stamps to create turkey tracks, and examined turkey feathers in the sensory table with magnifying glasses.

The last day to order prints is Monday, December 4th. If you lost or misplaced your child’s proofs and/or order form, and you would like to order prints, please see Miss Becka for a new one.
Holiday Happenings
Parade of Lights – Sunset Academy will be participating in Longmont’s Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 9th. We are asking for donations of White LED Net Lights for the van. Also, if you and/or your child would like to ride along in the van, please see Miss Nina. Seats are very limited, so if you are interested, please be sure to sign up soon! You are also welcome to walk alongside the van.
Attendance – Sign in/out sheets for the week of December 25th will be posted on the white board in the hallway just outside of the classroom door. The deadline to sign your child in or out is Friday, December 15th. Children who are not marked “in” will be presumed to be out, and the classroom will be staffed accordingly.
Holiday Social – Sunset Academy’s Annual Holiday Social is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20th. Please join us in the classroom for light refreshments, holiday cookie decorating, and a special holiday performance by the Panda One Class. The time of the event is TBD, so please stay tuned.
Classroom Updates
The recent loss of Miss Becca (Panda One) and Miss Sammi (Panda Two), coupled with the center-wide shortage of teachers, has left our room with somewhat of a revolving door in terms of staff. Teachers from other classrooms have been stepping in when they can to assist, and Miss Becka has been staying late to help bridge the gap in the afternoons. We understand that the lack of consistency from day to day can be frustrating and difficult for both the children as well as their families, and we ask that you please hang in there with us while we work to get everything sorted out. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
We welcomed two teachers, Miss Viki and Miss Nikki, to the Panda Room at the end of last month, and with any luck, we will be welcoming at least one more this month.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences will be held upon request. For your convenience, conferences may take place in person or over the phone. If you would like to schedule an appointment please see Miss Becka.
Allergies
Just a friendly reminder, we are a nut-free classroom. Thank you.
Transitions
We have a transition tentatively scheduled for the end of December/beginning of January. More details to come.
