Dear Panda One Families,

We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!  Our Halloween party went off without a hitch – the children really enjoyed wearing their costumes at school – and we’d like to thank everyone who contributed – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Reminders and Early Closures

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1st at 2:00AM – don’t forget to set your clocks back.

Sunset Academy will be closed on Thursday, November 26th, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.  We will reopen the next day, Friday, November 27th (Black Friday), until 2:00PM for your convenience.  A sign-in/out sheet for the week of Thanksgiving will be posted in the lobby near the tablets.  Please mark your child “IN” or “OUT” for each day of that week.  The deadline to reserve a spot for the holiday week is Wednesday, November 18th at 5:00PM.  Children who have not been signed in or out by the deadline will be presumed to be out, and thus, will not be able to attend, as the classroom will be staffed accordingly.  Thank you in advance.  We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Classroom Updates

We would like to welcome a new friend, Calvin, and his family to our classroom.  Calvin joined the Panda Room last month, and is our most recent graduate Ms. Jasmine’s Koala 2 class.  Congratulations on your graduation, Calvin – we’re glad you’re here!

Illness Policy

The change in seasons often brings a change in our overall health.  Coughing, sneezing, runny noses, earaches, and sore throats become commonplace in the classroom and elsewhere, while children, teachers, and parents struggle to keep up with the daily grind while not feeling their best.  While the aforementioned symptoms didn’t used to be cause for keeping your child(ren) home from school, with Covid-19 case numbers on the rise again, we will be updating our illness policy regularly to reflect when it is best policy/required to keep them home.  An up-to-date copy of the policy will be posted in the lobby for reference.  A good rule of thumb is: “When in doubt, keep them home.
