Polar Bears- December 2024

Hello Polar Parents, Yay! December is here. December is a very busy month. We have a lot of fun things happening. We will be making Christmas crafts, having our Christmas Program and Christmas Party. For the month of December the children will be learning the letter “E” please help your child find new words that start with the letter “E.” Learning the alphabet is an essential part of early learning about literacy By the time most children are three-four years and up they should know more than half of capital letters and five to 10 lowercase letters. We ask Parents to keep working on recognizing the Alphabet in random order with their child.

The children are learning Spanish with Ms.Lina every Tuesday and Thursday. Learning two languages at a young age is important. The first 3 to 4 years of life are considered the best time for little children to learn a second language because that is when their minds are actively absorbing new information. It is also the age when their brain develops at a fast rate, and their memory power is the strongest.

Social Emotional

“Smell the flower, Blow out the candle.”

In our classroom we have been working on Social Emotional, taking Deep breaths . Deep breathing helps a child to slow down and begin to respond to emotional outbursts in a more positive manner.

It encourages mindfulness, which is the practice of being fully present in the current moment.

On Friday 12/06, Sunset will be hosting a Winter Program. Please pay attention to the Director’s Newsletter for more details

The students in our classroom will be performing two Christmas songs.

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

&

“Jingle bells.”

Christmas Party

Monday – 12/23

We will be having a Christmas party, if you’d like to donate some snacks/plates for our party we will have a sign up sheet.

Thank you (:

Items needed everyday

We will still be going outside and sledding down the hill. Every child needs to bring snow pants, snow boots, and a heavy winter coat with a hood or a stocking hat and gloves 🧤 The children have always loved sledding down the hill. 🛷

All children need at least 2 changes of clothing at all times.

They also need a water bottle every day, a clean blanket, and a large backpack. 🎒

We ask parents to keep on working with their child to put on their clothes by themselves and start learning to zip up jackets.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & Happy New Year
