Polars Newsletter: June 2024

HELLO POLAR PARENTS!

Wow! June is already here! Summer is such a busy and fun time.

Our letter of the month is J. We will focus on writing, letter sound, and recognition.

On Monday June 10th, we’ll be saying goodbye to two of our friends, Camila and Serenity, whom will be transferring over to the Brown Bear classroom. Camila and Serenity, you both have been a joy in our lives and classroom; you will be so missed! But you’ll be going to very kind and loving teachers that are very excited to have you move up. We’ll see you on the playground! Love you both!

We’ll also be welcoming to new friends transitioning from the Panda 2 room. We’re excited to learn with you Evan and Rene!

JUNE THEME: OCEAN

Did you know that only 5% of the ocean has been discovered?

Our Polar bears will be learning about the ocean depths and all the beautiful and interesting creatures living in the deep waters! We have many fun activities planned and will discover new facts together as we read books in class!

HOW CAN YOU HELP GROWTH?

Learning is something that happens every day! The more that we stay consistent, the better that information will be retained. All moments throughout the day can be teaching/learning opportunities.

Examples:

Pointing out the letter of the week while reading books or when you see signs

Counting foods during meal times

Point out shapes or play “I spy” to practice finding colors, letters, shapes, numbers, etc
