Gardening provides a variety of experiences for young children. These experiences include creating, planting and maintaining gardens. They also include harvesting, preparing and sharing the food that is grown. This engages children in nutrition, science, physical activity, and provide opportunities to incorporate gardening in literacy and art programming.
