It appears that our check-out procedure in the afternoon has much room to improve, and we intend to improve it.
Currently, we ask parents to step into the air-pocket at the entrance to check out children and we could only serve one parent at a time. Parents are forced to line up outside of the building, and our teachers are forced to stay over time while waiting.
We examined the situation and would like to implement this new procedure for check -out when multiple parents show up at the same time. When a parent arrive early or late and no other parents are waiting, you may step into the front entrance and check out your child according to our Protocol during the pandemic.
- Parents pull into an unoccupied parking spaces as close to the entrance as possible, and wait by the car doors, leaving the sidewalk open for children and teachers to travel
- A teacher stays outside of the main entrance to identify which parents have pulled up and the orders in which they have arrived. He or she will inform the other designated teachers to bring the children out of the school to the parents according to the parent arriving order
- Parents check out the children outside by initial on a Checked-in Children Roaster
Let’s hope this new procedure can speed things up a bit and get everyone in-and-out quickly.
As we cut down the waiting time and the long line, we appreciate our parents come before 4:30PM so our teachers can go home on time. By 4:30PM, most of teachers have worked for a full shift and they need to go home to rest and take care of their family.
