Sunset Academy Will Remain Open Until Being Told to Close by Authority and New Measures to Check-in/out Your Child(ren) at Sunset Academy

Dear Sunset Parents,

As you are aware of, St. Vrain School District has decided to close starting from Friday, March 13, 2020 through the end of March. Many parents wonder how are we going to cope with the escalated situation of Coronavirus pandemic. Up to now, we have not received any instruction from the authority to close the school, and we were told the risk for the young children is low. After careful consideration, we have decided to keep our school open until being told by the authority to do otherwise.

However, in order to minimize the contacts protect our teachers and other children, we are going to take the following measures, starting from March 13, 2020:

  • Sunset will remain open until being told by authority to close, with the exception that  we are going to close the Before- and After-School program for one day  on March 13.
  • In the morning, parents are allowed to enter the main entrance one at a time with their child(ren). After the parent check the child(ren) in at the Procare terminal, a teacher will take the child(ren) to the classroom(s).  Parents will not go beyond the lobby area. Other parents should wait at the outside of the door for their turns.
  • In the afternoon, in the same way, parents are allowed to enter the main entrance one at a time to pick up their child(ren). A teacher will take the child(ren) to the from the classroom(s) to the parent.  Parents are to receive and check out their children at the Procare terminal, and will not go beyond the lobby area. Other parents should wait at the outside of the door for their turns.

Please also remember that tomorrow March 13, 2020 is the our early closing day. Please pick up your child(ren) before 4:00pm. In order to avoid congestion at 4;00pm, please come as soon as your schedule allows.
