Teddies Newsletter: February 2020

Dear Teddy Families,

We had a great first month of the new decade! We spent January learning about ourselves, repeating names of body parts and reading books about our homes.

This month we are all about LOVE! We will be doing activities that relate to kindness, friendship, and love.

Some of the books we will be reading this month are “Hi-Five Animals,” “Itsy Bitsy I Love You,” and “Are You My Cuddle Bunny?”. Songs we will be singing include “You Are My Sunshine,” and “I Love You.”

We will also be creating Valentine’s themed art and using finger paints to explore different textures. We will continue to take walks outside when the weather allows, snuggling together in the wagons while we observe nature.

Teacher Recommendation: There is a book by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell called “The Five Love Languages of Children”. It offers great insight into the different ways children express love and/or the need for love. It is a very interesting read!

Reminder: Our early closure day this month is Friday, February 14th. Please pick up your child by 4:00 pm.

Happy Birthday, Von! He will be one on February 19th.

Also, please welcome to our class Mason and Emmett, from Cubs. They are Teddies now!

We also have a brand new child starting this month in our class. Her name is Charlotte (Charlie) and she has just moved here from California. Welcome, Charlie!
